Serial Number 230 – F1 Rocket (RV-4 on steroids!)

Yep. Those are the plans serial number assigned to my build. I think that’s going to represent my top speed in knots. 😁 I’ve been dreaming about it for decades. I’ve been attending the annual Oshkosh Airventure show since 1998. I’ve lusted after the Glassairs, the Lancairs, the RVs, and dozens of biplanes and other homebuilts that have come and gone. I still have plans for a Long-EZ (openEZ technically), a GP-4 with a serial number, and a Pitts Model 12 with a serial number. After the Rocket, I could see myself building a Pitts Model

It starts off looking something like this……

And eventually, with a lot of work, blood, sweat, aspirin, temper-tantrums, it MIGHT come out like this….

Here’s a really well done video of an RV4 (what this started as) and an F1 (what crazy people do to an RV4.) I could watch this video on loop for hours. Gotta love that painted prop!! I like the cowling design, too.
