N3653A – My Current Trusty Steed
I’m very excited to partner in this wonderful plane with a brother from a different mother!
ADS-B in and out, WAAS GPS with GPSS coupled to 2-axis AP and slaved HSI, backup/secondary ILS, Shoulder Harnesses, State of the art engine monitors with GAMIs, Rosen Sunvisors, many freshly overhauled items.
The Colemill conversion to IO-520E engines was done in August 1980. I like the E engines as the alternator is on the back, belt-driven, so you don’t have that problem that other IO-520s have with the geared alternator on the front. Engines were remanufactured by Continental in Spring 1980.

PS Engineering 8000BT audio panel installed. Works great, I call on the phone and listen to music all the time.
ADS-B Stratus ESG Transponder with 2i remote unit
Two Collins radios that work great
Brand new (replaced by Garmin) 696 with a fairly current database (2019)
Heater works wonderfully!
Alcohol system for the props need some work. As far as I can tell, the tank and lines to the engines look ok. I can’t tell if the pump is working and honestly, I haven’t tried it because there is no alcohol in the tank to pump. It looks like the lines were crimped at the front of the engine. The props have the slingers and they are in good shape.
